Weather display software has a new feature incorporated into the programme
At night using the (Temperature jar ) and the (outside temperature)
When the sky is a overcast the temperature jar and the outside temperature will be very close to each other
when the sky is clear the temperature jar will drop in temperature
The programme works out from the dater if it is clear, partly cloudy, mostly cloudy, overcast and displays the relevant outlook icon

On the outside of the Glass Jar there is a couple of layers of foil this will help with shielding from local infrared
To cut out the circle polystyrene I heated up a screwdriver on a gas stove you do not want this to be red hot
just warm enough to cut the polystyrene and make a hole in the centre
Use a black felt tip marker pen and colour over the polystyrene
Black Circle was cut out of a tin lid
the brass tube was from a old boiler thermostat
and soldered on to the tin lid then cut a slit into
the brass tube and altered the diameter
to fit the temperature probe tightly
